Customer-Centricity
Customer Centricity

We strive to satisfy our customers  both internal and external. We do this by listening to them carefully, understanding their pain points, responding to them promptly, advising them honestly, and exceeding their expectations. We prioritize doing the right thing for customers, contextualizing their requests to their whys and needs, and adapting to help them achieve their goals.

innovate
Embrace Change to Innovate
We accept change as a given. Change is an opportunity to do things differently, to innovate when faced with a different paradigm. We adapt quickly to new and changing priorities by taking risks to innovate. Taking risks is necessary to our success — not taking risks can be the biggest risk of all. Learning from our failures is part of our path to success.
pride
Pride in our Work
We strive for excellence in all that we do, large or small, and take pride in our progress. We all take responsibility for the state of our team, our work, our products, and ourselves. We welcome all help and feedback, and recognize and incorporate the best ideas offered. When we notice a problem, we either fix it ourselves or find another owner. We never say, “That’s not my job.”
respect
Respect & Trust

We treat each other with dignity. We seek understanding by listening before we speak. We provide others with opportunities to succeed, and we give constructive feedback. We help each other. We give trust easily, recognizing that trusting each other is essential to our success. We don’t let occasional failures and differences in work styles undermine our trust. We assume best intentions always and learn from failures rather than seeking to place blame.

communication
Transparent & Humble Communication

We understand that working in a one global and cross- cultural team is challenging, so we proactively interact with our colleagues in a humble way, always open to accept the differences. We empathize with being on the other side, so we try our best to provide sufficient context and we understand our multicultural environment to build a confident and respectful relationship.

Know our history

The best talent joined with the emerging technologies. We develop and program smart software in order to make life easier for people and brands. Introducing our available edge resources and our AI solutions it will be possible to upgrade your startup operations or simplify your enterprise systems.

From sensors to algorithms, our team is continuously researching and testing the software, ensuring the best results and creating new solutions. This project was born in 2010, led by Amazon Engineers, who architected its key technologies, such as DynamoDB. Ten years later, we have grown till being part of the Sony Group. Now we are looking for people like you to keep growing.

2010

We started off in 2010 thanks to the union of a Japanese businessman and an American software engineer.

Our first success was the development of MidoNet, a project of an open code of software defined networks (SDN). This virtual network was based on the superposition that connects virtual machines through digital structures such as routers, commutators and virtual ports. This network was able to build and administrate topologies and virtual network configurations remotely. Its design of distributed systems decides where to send the packages handled in every final node, the point where the VM that sended the traffic was executed. It was integrated by OpenStack, an orchestration platform in the open code cloud, so that the initiated virtual machines could get connected through MidoNet.

2012

We have made our MidoNet source code available at www.midonet.org. It is totally free! It is the first solution to the independent and open network virtualization available for the OpenStack community.

2017

In 2017, Midokura joined forces with Sony Semiconductor Solutions (SSS). Both organizations shared a vision to transcend traditional hardware-centric approaches and explore innovative strategies together. This symbiotic partnership has since laid the foundation for a dynamic future as associated companies, fueled by a shared passion for pioneering technology.

2019

In May 2019, SSS acquired Midokura remaining independent and keeping the existing core values and culture. The acquisition enabled Sony Semiconductor Solutions to utilize Mido Holdings’s virtualization technologies together with its image sensor technology, making it possible to configure a virtual environment that integrates multiple edge devices equipped with image sensors.

2021

Midokura provides the Edge Virtualization Platform. This forms the foundations for a new edge computing environment that can be linked with cloud systems. In turn, it enables the launch of an Edge AI Platform Service to Streamline the Development and Implementation of Vision Sensing Solutions.

2023

Midokura embraces WASM (WebAssembly) to run AI Sensing Applications at the far edge, on constrained hardware and with specific security, performance, and composability needs. Midokura announces the WEdge project during the keynote of WASMCon 2023, the CNCF conference for technical developers and users interested in exploring the potential of WebAssembly.
